The Twin Cities Improv Festival (TCIF) is one of the longest-running improv festivals in the Midwest, founded in 2006 by Minneapolis trio Five Man Job. Now in its 20th year, TCIF showcases local Twin Cities improv groups alongside visiting troupes from across the United States and internationally. The four-day festival features performances, workshops, and a finale show.
TCIF20 takes place at the Phoenix Theater in Uptown Minneapolis, marking a return to the venue where the festival originally began. The festival moved there after HUGE Improv Theater, its longtime home, closed in fall 2024. Notable visiting acts for 2026 include TJ & Dave (Chicago) and Death Hammer (Portland), with 23 local groups and 8 out-of-town acts on the lineup.
Submissions for TCIF20 closed on February 15, 2026. Applications are typically accepted through the festival website.
