The Royal Improv Festival is a multi-day improv comedy festival in Charlotte and Lake Norman, North Carolina, organized by Queen City Comedy, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. The festival is part of the Queen City Comedy Experience, Charlotte's premier celebration of comedy, which has been running since 2017.
The 2026 edition expands to six days and two locations, featuring headliners TJ Jagodowski and Dave Pasquesi - the celebrated Chicago-based longform improv duo. The festival includes shows, workshops, jams, and after parties, all designed to bring performers together in a collaborative environment.
The 2026 festival features TJ Jagodowski and Dave Pasquesi, the Chicago duo known for their weekly two-person longform show and described by The New York Times as "Second City-seasoned masters of long form improv."
The festival accepts performer submissions through April 30, 2026. In 2025, 20 acts were selected from submissions reviewed by third-party auditors from outside the Carolinas. Performance slots are 20 minutes. Apply via the Queen City Comedy website.
