Overview

The Red Rocks Improv Festival is Cedar City, Utah's long-running annual improv festival, produced by Off the Cuff Comedy (OTC) at the OTC Comedy Theater in the heart of Southern Utah's red rock country. The 2026 edition runs September 17-19 and marks the festival's 16th year, following a 15th anniversary edition in 2025 that drew improv troupes from across the United States.

Programming spans a wide variety of improv formats, including musical improv, improvised noir, parody podcasts, and Dungeons & Dragons-inspired shows. Each performing group gets a 25-minute performance slot across three evenings of shows. The festival has strong ties to Southern Utah University, which co-promotes the event through campus media and event calendars.

Submissions

Submissions for the 2026 edition are open through July 1, 2026 via the team submission form. The submission fee is $30. Performance slots are 25 minutes per group. Accepted groups receive free admission to shows, access to special events (parties, meet-ups, and adventures), and snacks and beverages throughout the weekend.
