Overview
The Queer and Funny Improv Festival is a two-day Minneapolis event centering queer comedic voices. The festival describes its mission as highlighting "the diversity of queer comedic voices" and spreading "the joy of improv as an art form" in a space where performers and audiences can be their full selves. It defines "queer" as an umbrella term for gender, romantic, and sexual identities.
The 2024 edition was held at Red Eye Theater; the 2026 festival moves to Phoenix Theater. The festival is fiscally sponsored by Springboard for the Arts, a 501(c)3 nonprofit.
The 2026 lineup had not been posted as of mid-September. The festival planned to make its first lineup announcement at the Queer & Funny GAY-LA, a free mixer, improv jam, and fundraiser on September 19, 2026 at Queermunity MN in Minneapolis.
