Omaha Comedy Fest is an annual comedy festival founded in 2013 by Dylan Oakes Rohde as the Omaha Improv Festival at The Backline Comedy Theatre. It was rebranded in 2019 to reflect its expansion beyond improv into standup, sketch, panels, and workshops. The volunteer-led nonprofit festival brings together established and emerging comedians for a weekend of performances, punch-up workshops, panels, and parties across multiple venues in Little Bohemia and downtown Omaha.
The festival features over 70 shows and 150 acts from across the country, with past performers including Amber Ruffin, Beth Stelling, Amy Miller, Colton Dunn, Jay Jurden, Kevin McDonald and Dave Foley (Kids in the Hall), and Epic Rap Battles of History.
The 2026 festival accepts standup, improv, and workshop instructor submissions via Typeform. Application fees are tiered by deadline: $15 (Early Bird, April 13), $20 (Regular, April 27), and $30 (Last Bird, April 30). Workshop instructor submissions are due April 30. All fees go to production costs. Selections are notified by mid-May.
