Overview

The Northwest Improv Fest (NWIF) is a 3-day festival of improv comedy shows, workshops, and community building held in Spokane, Washington. Founded in 2024 by Noah Johnson of Levity Theatre and co-organized with Jim Mohr and the Blue Door Theatre, the festival brings together improv troupes from Spokane and across the United States. The 2026 edition features 17 acts with 60+ performers, 6 shows across 3 nights, and 13 workshops taught by expert instructors.

In honor of Blue Door Theatre's 30 years of performing and teaching improv, the City of Spokane declared April 2026 as Improv Month. The festival has grown rapidly: submissions nearly tripled from 16 teams in the inaugural year to 46 tapes reviewed for the second edition.
