Overview
MOMENTA is an international improv theater festival presented by the Leipzig ensemble Theaterturbine. The 2026 edition, MOMENTA26, is the 10th, running September 23-27 at the naTo venue in Leipzig. The festival's motto captures its spirit: "everything is improvised, everything emerges in the moment, everything happens only once."
Each edition invites a handful of international improv artists to Leipzig as "Inspirators," each anchoring one of seven shows in collaboration with Theaterturbine and a hand-picked festival ensemble. The program blends new formats, virtuosic long-form, and workshop offerings drawn from the same international roster.
Workshops
Six workshops are offered across the festival weekend, led by the invited international guests and consolidated into two days. Registration runs through yesticket.org, with early bird pricing available through mid-April 2026.
Submissions
Submissions for the 2026 edition are closed; the festival curates its guest list rather than running an open application round.
