Overview

The Mobile Improv Comedy Carnival (MICC) is Alabama's first improv comedy festival, a two-night celebration of unscripted comedy at the Mobile Carnival Museum in downtown Mobile. The festival's mission is to celebrate, elevate, and advance improvisational comedy in Mobile, positioning the city as a cultural hub for live performance in a region with no other dedicated improv festival between New Orleans and Sarasota.

The inaugural 2026 edition features 17 performances over two nights from performers across 12 cities in 9 U.S. states, including all of Mobile's improv troupes. Saturday daytime includes workshops for all experience levels, with free intro-to-improv sessions open to the community, at venues across downtown Mobile. The festival is headlined by HERE! The (Improvised) Musical, starring veteran improvisers Tara DeFrancisco and Rance Rizzutto, an act NPR called "nothing short of brilliant" that has headlined in over 25 countries.

Workshops

Saturday workshops run from 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM at various downtown venues including Oyster City Brewing Company, the MAC Gallery, and Mobile Opera. Instructors include Jill Bernard, Will Luera, Steven Disbrow, and others.
