Overview
The London Improv Festival is a four-day improv festival presented by Blanche Improv, a female-led independent theater company in London. The 2027 edition runs May 27-30 at and around Blanche Improv HQ. Workshops run during the day and shows in the evening, with the festival's headliners both performing and teaching workshops. The program also includes jams, panels, skills-sharing sessions, a live podcast recording, socials, and a couple of improv experiments.
The festival is pro-sober, so no alcohol is consumed at official festival events. Teams that miss out in the main selection can enter the Fan Faves Competition, a series of heats and semi-finals at Blanche on Sunday nights from February 7 to a Grand Final on March 28, 2027. The winner gets a 25-minute slot at the festival.
Submissions
Team applications for 2027 open December 12, 2026 and close at midnight on January 10, 2027. There is no application fee, and every application needs a video, ideally an uncut 10-15 minute section of a show or rehearsal. Blanche is holding a Video Day on January 3, 2027 for teams that need to film one. Selected teams play 25-minute slots and get a share of the box office for their show, but the festival can't cover travel or accommodation. Individuals can also apply for the eight-person Ensemble Team, which rehearses with Lelda Kapsis and performs on the Sunday. See the application information.
