Overview
The Last Word Comedy Festival is an annual four-day improv festival in Williamsburg, Virginia, produced by AVAdventure Productions. Despite the "Comedy Festival" branding, programming is entirely improv-focused, with national headliners, touring improv shows, and improv workshops. The 2026 edition is the festival's third year, held across multiple Williamsburg venues including the Glenn Close Theatre at William & Mary.
The 2026 lineup features Bluebird Improv with Tim Meadows, Matt Walsh, Joe Canale, and Marc Evan Jackson; the touring "Whose Live Anyway?" show with Ryan Stiles, Greg Proops, Jeff B. Davis, Joel Murray, and musical director Laura Hall; and returning favorites like Baby Wants Candy, Shamilton, and Improvised Jane Austen. The festival is supported by the City of Williamsburg, Visit Williamsburg, and Arts at William & Mary. New for 2026, the Last Word Academy invites improv performers of all levels to join ensemble teams created specifically for the festival.
