The Jet City Improv Festival (JCIF) is a new improv festival in Seattle that builds on the legacy of the Seattle Festival of Improv Theater (SFIT), which ran from 2001 to 2019. Organized by Jet City Improv - one of the Pacific Northwest's longest-running improv companies, founded in 1992 - the festival marks a return to festival programming after a multi-year hiatus.
The inaugural edition features three days of performances at West of Lenin Theatre in Seattle's Fremont neighborhood, with workshops held at both West of Lenin and University Heights Center. JCIF aims to launch "a new chapter of bold, collaborative improv in Seattle," with performances, workshops, social mixers, and partner events.
Workshops take place on Friday and Saturday, with 2-hour standard sessions and 3-4 hour Master Classes available. Sessions are hosted at West of Lenin Theatre and University Heights Center.
Applications for both performers and workshop instructors close April 19, 2026. Notifications will be sent by May 18, 2026. This first edition is unpaid for performers. Apply to perform or teach.
