I.TH.A.C.A. (Improv, Theater and Creative Arts) is an international festival held annually in June in Athens, Greece. Organized by ImproSynthesis, a school of improvisational theatre in Kato Petralona, the festival brings together over 120 artists from more than 20 countries for performances, workshops, and discussions. The 2026 theme is "Building Bridges," inviting artists to connect across disciplines.
The festival treats improvisation as both an art form and a philosophy, bridging improv with scripted theater, physical performance, clowning, stand-up, contemporary dance, and experimental storytelling. It has received the EFFE Label 2026-2027 from the European Festivals Association, recognizing its quality and commitment to artistic freedom, diversity, and emerging artists. The 1st edition took place June 4-7, 2025.
The 2026 edition features 15 instructors offering over 70 hours of workshops across all four days, with international teachers including Inbal Lori, Shawn Fisher, Luana Proenca, Soledad Cardigni, and others from countries spanning Israel, Brazil, Malta, France, Singapore, Portugal, Romania, Nigeria, and Greece.
