ImprovCon

Overview

ImprovCon is an inaugural four-day convention dedicated to improvisational theater, running August 20-23, 2026 at the Town & Country Resort in San Diego. Founded by Chris Colthurst and inspired by the Comic-Con model, the event brings together both newcomers and experienced improvisers for workshops, performances, panels, and community events. The convention encompasses both comedic and dramatic improvisation styles.

The lineup features prominent performers including TJ & Dave, Scott Adsit & Jet Eveleth, Susan Messing & Rachael Mason, 3Peat, Asian AF, Will Hines, Eliza Skinner, Keiko Agena, David Razowsky, Rob Belushi, and Jon Barinholtz. Theater partners include Mockingbird Improv, Finest City Improv, and ImprovCity.

Submissions

ImprovCon accepts submissions for mainstage shows, feedback-enhanced performances, side stage and special sets, and interactive/immersive experiences. Submissions opened March 6 and close April 30, 2026, with fees of $20-$30. Selected performers receive a complimentary Play Pass.
