Overview

Flock Festival is an international unscripted theatre festival held at Treehouse NDSM in the artistic NDSM area of Amsterdam-Noord. Organized by Flock Theatre, a company founded in 2020 by Laura and Gael Doorneweerd-Perry, the festival brings together improvisers from around the world for shows, workshops, and collaborative performance.

The inaugural 2024 edition featured 21 shows and 14 workshops from 12 international teachers over seven days. The festival also runs an International Ensemble program that brings together around 10 improvisers to work with a facilitator, create a new format, and perform it on the main stage. The 2026 "Nestling Edition" is framed as a smaller, cosier, community-focused festival with fewer workshops and teachers running for longer durations, and fewer shows scheduled. All shows are held at Treehouse NDSM with workshops in the vicinity.

Workshops

The festival offers multi-day workshops led by international teachers, with workshop participants receiving festival pass access. For 2026, a "Can't Choose Workshop" package gives access to one workshop at a discounted price without committing to a specific one in advance. The Festival Pass covers 6 shows across the festival, plus a discount on the Tuesday dinner and Sunday brunch. Accommodation packages with other visiting improvisers are available through partner lodging (including Amsterdam Farm Lodge).
