The Detroit Women of Comedy Festival (DWCF) is an annual comedy festival held at Planet Ant Theatre in Hamtramck, Michigan. Founded in 2018 by Detroit comedian Kate Holmes, the festival celebrates and elevates women, trans, and non-binary comedy makers from Metro Detroit and beyond. The 2026 edition features two days across three stages - Ant Hall, the Black Box, and the Independent Comedy Club - with over 20 comedy blocks and 100+ performers.
The festival spans multiple comedy formats including improv, stand-up, sketch, podcasts, alt-comedy, and workshops. All festival profits are donated to local nonprofits, with 2026 proceeds benefiting Planet Ant Theatre, the Detroit Creativity Project, and the Detroit Justice Center.
The festival accepts submissions across multiple comedy formats. The 2026 submission window ran from February 1 through March 15, 2026, with early bird and regular tiers. Submissions require a video of an unedited performance and a fee ($15-$60 depending on category and timing). Apply via the DWCF submissions page.
