Das Improv Festival

Overview

Das Improv Festival is Berlin's alternative improv festival, founded in 2019 and held annually since its return in 2023 after a COVID pause. The festival showcases high-quality long-form improvised comedy in English for an international audience, with a focus on grounded and game-based styles including long-form musical improv. Its guiding principles are "Truth and Game."

Produced by Das Improv Collective zur Forderung von Improvisationstheater e.V., a nonprofit formed in 2024, the festival hosts 50+ teams from around the world across two venues in Berlin's Neukölln neighborhood. All proceeds support headliner compensation and festival production. The festival holds the EFFE Label (2024-2025) from the European Festivals Association.

Workshops

The festival offers 16 workshops covering musical improv, voice-over work, and more, for beginners to advanced players.

Submissions

Performance applications for 2026 are open.
